Bookmark Printing for Your Bookstore

Bookmarks are perhaps the best way to get the most attention to a specific cause or event. However, the number one industry that should be utilizing bookmarks are bookstores and libraries. Both of these institutions sell books, and as a result as always on the lookout for some ways to easily market themselves to the masses. Below are the top four design tips to marketing your bookstore with bookmarks.

Copy - Make sure that the copy you choose to use is something that is reflective of your bookstore. That means that the tone should be something that is unique to its atmosphere. As a result try and think of things that would interest your customers. Perhaps it would be a brain teaser, or maybe even a saying that is local to your community. This will help in not only connecting, but also bringing attention to your store.

Shape - Try to go for a shape that is unique. By having a unique shape, you are better able to stand out from the crowd, and as a result bring eyeballs to your brand. Just be sure that the shape is relevant to your business. For example, many times bookstores will print bookmarks in the shape of their store, or in the shape of a pencil. These oddly shapes pieces draw eyeballs to your brand.

Colors - Try to pick colors that are unique to your brand. Only choose colors that you use in the store. This will not only help in building brand awareness, but will also help in building brand credibility. Just be sure to add a little bit of highlighting to make sure that these are relevant.

Images - Try to choose images that go inline with your other branding efforts. This will help in clarifying your brand, as well as help in adding a little variety to your marketing piece. So think of what your customer would like to see. Is it something such as a person, or is it an animal? Then place these images by the points you would like to emphasize.

When you are done, be sure that you ask everyone what they think of your bookmark. By asking what they think, you are best able to get valuable insight as to what works, and what doesn't. This not only helps in your bookmark efforts, but also helps in your overall marketing scheme as these tips can be applied to just about any other printed material.
